DOMAINS

MTI.jpg

Mundane to Insane explores three domains that have almost always been the non-family and non-professional loves of my life.  I started cooking in 9th grade - way back in 1968.  I got my first camera at age 10 - a little Kodak Brownie.  I think it was the summer before 9th grade when I first thought I might like to paint - something my mother had been doing for a few years that really intrigued me.  I've always wanted to know the composition of the world around me and have studied constantly about people, the natural world, music - whatever has piqued my interest.  Learning throughout my entire life has always helped make the mundane insane, and I expect it always will.

Sustaining a healthy body depends on regular consumption of the proper proportion of protein, carbohydrate, and fat.  Food, nutrition, organic vs. conventionally grown, pyramids, plates, calories, BMI.... Preparation takes place in a kitchen (traditional or makeshift), but there's SUCH a lot more to be considered.

Cairns abound everywhere I've traveled.  This is one my husband and I built on Yellowstone Lake when we visited there for our 40th anniversary.

After dabbling with artistic stuff as a teenager and a college student, about 25 years ago, as a young mother, I decided to paint  to help save myself from going crazy with three kiddos under five.  Of all things, I chose to paint with watercolors.  I begin most paintings with a photo.  I try very hard to paint en plein air, but I still haven't learned to leave out minute details that take so much longer than the view lasts - the photo helps me remember what I need to include in the painting.
